Medicinal Plants Cultivators Meet
20 May 2020
One of the most critical determinants of the efficacy of Ayurveda intervention is the quality of the raw drugs that goes into the production of Ayurveda medicine. There are around 900 species of medicinal plants that are used by the AYUSH industry and around 300 of them come under the category of RET (Rare, Endangered and Threatened). Another issue that plagues the industry where raw drug sourcing is largely unorganised is that of Adulteration and drug substitution. GAF therefore felt the need to have an exclusive meet to interact with Ayurveda herb cultivators and collectors with the intention of discussing issues pertaining to conservation, sustainability and preservation of natural bio-diversity while addressing issues that affect the livelihood of the people involved.
